My husband has been thinking of buying a satellite navigation system for his car. I know someone who has a Garmin 396 and so we have been taking a look at theirs to find out whether it is the sort of thing that we might like to have. Never having had one before is tricky knowing exactly what would be best for us. We have therefore been doing some research on line to find out what is available whether perhaps a different model such as the Garmin 296 would be better or whether a different brand would suit us. We decided that the best thing to do was to write a list of features that we are looking for and then see whether there was anything available within our budget that would fit our requirements. At the moment it looks like it might be the Garmin 496 which will offer us the best value for money but I just need to read a few more customer reviews to be sure that it does have everything we are looking for and whether it is likely to be reliable. I like to make sure that things will last before I buy them as I see no point in doing so otherwise.
