My basement is getting really tatty and I have been wondering about doing it up in order to make a nice spare bedroom for when I have guests over. I have been spurred on by these lovely window wells that I have seen. They are really stylish and it would seem a shame to put them in and then not make use of the room. I am going to have to replace mine very soon as it is so rusty that it is very hard to open and so does not provide a good safety escape route, which to me is an essential feature of our house. To have an egress window well fitted will be my top priority and I am having someone come look at it this week. I will then decide whether to shift the junk out of the basement and paint it up to make a lovely guest bedroom. It will be lovely when my mother comes to stay as we will not have to make the girls sleep in the same room and we even have room for a little en suite bathroom down there so she would be really comfortable. I think I will look into it and see how much it might cost.
