I was recently visiting with an old friend when she had a lovely delivery. Her son has sent her some gift cookies through the post. She said that he often did it to cheer her up because he knew that she missed him a lot and he wanted to show her that he was thinking about her. I thought it was a really lovely idea and because she often had great pleasure in offering them to her friends when they popped round, it meant that she did not get unhealthy through eating too many of them. The cookie delivery made me think that I could use the idea myself and perhaps use them for presents for some of my friends. I thought that getting a festive holiday gourmet gift basket put together for some of my friends might be a great gift. I would have to be careful for those who are diabetic but I am sure that I could perhaps send them a more healthy fruit basket instead. I might even consider making them up myself so that I could find things to put in them which I know the recipient would particularly like. I think getting a food gift at holiday time is always welcome because people tend to like to treat themselves at that time of the year.
